A beautiful morning with The Crow and VeerMan. A sunrise session before the second front could hit. Lionel takes us through how he approaches the different areas in Durban Harbour and what he uses. It was a slow start to the morning with a couple odds and ends, venturing to different spots to get a bite. Perseverance certainly paid off and as it got warmer the fish made a showing, feeding on the banks with some big Springer and Grunter mixed in. They were short-timed as they had to head back to work but Lionel “lucky man” snuck in a decent springer not giving Veer a chance.
Lionel fished an Okuma Recon rod paired with a Epixor reel spooled with Boss Braid Slick while Veer’s setup consisted of the Sensation Powerplus Finesse 5.6ft paired with an Okuma Ceymar 10 and spooled with Boss Finesse Braid. Both used McArthy 3 & 4-inch Jerk Minnows on Eagle Claws range of jig heads.
